Beyond Science

Beyond Science is a special program dedicated to XR content inspired by science, space, nature, and the environment. Through a diverse selection of works that combine scientific imagination with new media technologies, audiences are invited to experience new sensory perspectives on the universe, the natural world, and future environments.
Developed in collaboration with the Bucheon Astronomical Science Museum, the program will feature dome-screen content, space-themed immersive works, and science-focused XR experiences.

Beyond Reality ¡¿ Bucheon Astronomical Science Museum

This year, Beyond Reality partners with the Bucheon Astronomical Science Museum to present immersive exhibition content centered on astronomy and the universe. Combining the museum¡¯s astronomical expertise with BIFAN¡¯s curatorial vision for new media exhibitions, the collaboration offers a jointly curated program exploring constellations, planets, and the structure of the cosmos through immersive and sensory storytelling. Presented within dome-based exhibition environments, these works provide audiences with a heightened sense of immersion and wonder. This collaboration aims to expand the imagination through science-based storytelling while presenting the cosmos as a meeting point between technology and art. Bringing together Bucheon¡¯s scientific and cultural infrastructure with the festival¡¯s spirit of creative experimentation, the program creates a new exhibition experience that moves seamlessly between knowledge and sensation.
