BIFAN Forges Strategic Alliance with KOFIC, BFC, and MBC C&I for AI Talent Cultivation
BIFAN is taking a monumental step toward the future of cinema. On Tuesday, March 24th, the
Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN),
Busan Film Commission (BFC),
MBC C&I, and the
Korean Film Council (KOFIC) signed a four-party MOU.
This partnership aims to revitalize the Korean film industry and establish a robust support system for nurturing creative talent in the field of AI-driven film and video content.
This collaboration is designed to proactively respond to the rapidly evolving media landscape by cultivating professional creators and building future-oriented infrastructure. Beyond simply introducing new technology, this alliance is expected to secure a new competitive edge for the Korean film industry on the global stage.
A Special Lecture: From Storytellers to Worldbuilders
On the same day, BIFAN Festival Director Shin Chul delivered a special lecture at the VIC-LAB Networking Day titled:
AI Cinema, Vision for the Next Decade: From Technical Explosion to Liberation of Imagination.
Director Shin discussed the shifting paradigms of the film industry and the evolving role of producers within the AI innovation ecosystem, offering his vision for the future of cinema at the VIC-LAB Networking Day. He emphasized the transition from “Storytelling” to “Worldbuilding,” noting that
AI technology can liberate human imagination rather than restrict it.
Under this visionary banner, BIFAN+ will continue to serve as a hub for groundbreaking AI-integrated works. We invite you to witness these new cinematic frontiers at the
30th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival!
