From the 2022 NAFF It Project to Cannes: A Rewarding Journey
Director Heo Gun’s Last Mankind has been chosen to represent Korea this year in "Fantastic 7", a genre film showcase presented at the Cannes’ Marché du Film!
🌱 A Meaningful Partnership with NAFF
Last Mankind was connected with BIFAN from its planning stages, as an official selection for the 2022 NAFF Project Market "It Project". Having discovered and supported the film from the very beginning, NAFF is thrilled to see it selected for the Cannes Fantastic 7. This remarkable achievement highlights the project's remarkable and ongoing journey with BIFAN.
🧪 An Original Universe and Bold Genre Vision
Set in a post-apocalyptic world devastated by air pollution, this sci-fi fantasy follows Sina, a girl trapped in a bunker and forced to endure her father’s cruel experiments. Her world changes when she encounters a survivor named Taeo. Despite limited resources, Heo Gun finds inventive ways to push genre boundaries. He utilized AI technology to bring his unique apocalyptic world to life with a fresh and striking visual style.
