Synopsis

DÖNER is a Parisian action thriller following Max's quest to revive his family's kebab joint. A hostage situation involving a mysterious suitcase sets the stage. As Max prepares for a one-night reopening on New Year Eve, he and his friends get entangled with a mysterious woman and international gangs. Amidst chaos and danger, Max confronts his family's legacy while recreating his dad’s perfect kebab recipe. The climax blends violence with emotional revelation, leading Max to personal redemption.

Jean Luc HERBULOT

Jean Luc HERBULOT, originally from Congo Brazzaville, achieved acclaim with his debut film Dealer in 2014, which became the first French indie movie acquired by Netflix. He returned to Africa in 2017 to create the TV series Sakho & Mangane (2019). In Senegal, he co-founded LACME STUDIOS with Pamela Diop, producing festival hits like Saloum (2021). His upcoming films Interstate and Zero are set to premiere at upcoming festivals.

Ex-production executive at VFX powerhouse BUF (The Grandmaster, Life of Pi, Thor, Enter the Void), Alexis PERRIN is the president of Rumble Fish Productions (Vesper, Saloum, Cities of Last Things); and was also co-founder of French mini studio Logical Pictures (Revenge, Incident In a Ghostland, Swallow).
