Synopsis

A dystopian horror set in the time of an uninhabitable drought. The film follows Kai as he struggles with retracting genital and his wife, Ling who demeans him with this impotency. Their widowed neighbour, Daming, grieves over the death of the last of his three sons, while his mother devises a secret plan for another grandson.

Nelson YEO is a Singaporean filmmaker. His first feature film, Dreaming & Dying, won the coveted Filmmakers of the Present – Golden Leopard (Pardo d’oro Cineasti del presente) award and Swatch First Feature Award at Locarno International Film Festival 2023. His short films have been selected for international film festivals such as Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg.

Sophia SIM is a close collaborator of Si En and Nelson, co-producing for the short film, Nelson Yeo’s Dreaming (Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg, 2022) and Dreaming & Dying. She co-produced Last Shadow At First Light by Nicole Midori (San Sebastian International Film Festival 2023).
