Synopsis

Uli (32) loses her daughter, Gale (11), in a tragic accident. Desperate, she seeks a shaman's help to revive Gale. Ignoring warnings, she animates a wooden statue with her blood. As Gale becomes more human, her loving nature twists into malevolence. Possessed, Gale wreaks havoc, killing those she once loved. Uli must face the horrifying consequences of tampering with Mother Nature.

Sammaria SIMANJUNTAK

Sammaria SIMANJUNTAK is a female Indonesian filmmaker whose films have been featured at international festivals, including the Berlin International Film Festival. Her debut feature, Cin(T)a, won Best Original Screenplay at Festival Film Indonesia, and Demi Ucok won Best Film from Tempo Magazine. She shows versatility through the horror film Lost and the Netflix heist comedy, Crazy Awesome Teachers. Sammaria's films, inspired by the women around her, explore themes of diversity and self-acceptance. Her latest work, My Great Grandpa's Lost Skeleton, celebrates embracing one's true self.

Lies Nanci SUPANGKAT

Lies Nanci SUPANGKAT graduated from the New York Film Academy in 2016 and embarked on her filmmaking journey, creating several short films, including Bride's Slave (2018) and Teacher, a documentary about the experiences of educators and mothers during the pandemic, in 2020. Nanci's notable works include My Great Grandpa's Lost Skeleton, set to release in Indonesian theaters in 2024, and Kitab Kencan, premiered on Vidio.com in 2022. She developed She Will Find the Sky, featured at Docs by the Sea in 2022, where it won the Docs DMZ award. Additionally, she wrote Dancing Gale, which received the Best Screenplay award at Indonesiana Film Festival in 2023.
