Mentors

This year, NAFF Fantastic Film School has appointed Roger Garcia, an advisor from the Asian Film Awards Academy, as Dean. Starting his career as head of the Hong Kong International Film Festival in 1978, he has worked as an artistic director, curator, and consultant at numerous international film festivals, including the Hainan Island International Film Festival, Locarno Film Festival, and Torino Film Festival, leading the development of film festivals and the film industry.

In addition, 2024 NAFF Fantastic Film School has invited several international mentors, including Professor Barry Sabath from the American Film Institute, Chris Lee, who served as the president of production at Columbia Pictures and TriStar Pictures, Evrim Ersoy, the head of programming at BeyondFest, and Hong Kong film master Johnnie To. Domestic mentors include Professor Steve Choe from the Korea National University of Arts, who won the Best Editing Award at the Grand Bell Awards in 2013 for the film Snowpiercer (2013) and edited popular series such as Revenant (2023), Vigilante (2023) and A Time Called You (2023). Director Kim Sung-ho, a professor in the Department of Content Storytelling at Chugye University for the Arts and an award-winning filmmaker at renowned festivals such as the Busan International Film Festival, the G?rardmer International Fantastic Film Festival, and the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, will also participate.
