Nuville Bucheon

After captivating Toronto, Canada, the 'Nuville' project is now landing in Bucheon. Sponsored by the Canada Council for the Arts and a groundbreaking digital art collaboration between RAARAlab and Gii?ii immersive studio, uniting Toronto and Bucheon through the immersive Nuville experience at Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. 'Nuville Bucheon¡¯ is tailored to the unique features of Bucheon Art Bunker B39 and Bucheon Central Park. This special event, part of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival(BiFan+), invites participants to actively and directly engage in an immersive gameplay experience, rediscovering space, nature, and the city.

Played on the audience's smartphones, players are tasked to outsmart a fictional megapolis' AI using their bodies and observational wits. In the cyberpunk walking game 'Nuville Bucheon' for smartphones, you will travel to 2040 and assume a new identity. Experience the end of life as waste in the dystopian setting of the former waste incineration plant at Art Bunker B39, or become a climate refugee striving to escape environmental catastrophe in the utopian world of Bucheon Central Park In 'Nuville,' which combines live-action role-playing with augmented reality walking gameplay, you'll need to physically execute prompts hidden within a podcast co-written and produced by AI. Use your whole body and observational wits as you execute a series of whimsical prompts hidden in an out-of-this-world podcast. This art game lets its players reshape their relationship with their urban surroundings through immersive play, fostering a deeper connection with place, presence, and humanness.
