Project Market

NAFF is attended by prominent film figures as judges. The NAFF judges conduct individual project meetings with the supervisor and promoter of the NAFF project selection. The project is reviewed, and excellent projects are selected to award the Cash Award and the Post-production Support Award.

Mike MACARI

USA / Koji Production / Producer

Mike Macari is a Film Producer who is a Producer of the hugely successful American remake of the Japanese horror film The Ring for its sequels, The Ring Two and Rings. He is currently in pre-production on the film The Dagon directed by Brad Anderson. His action thriller Fractured also directed by Brad Anderson (The Machinist) and starring Sam Worthington premiered number one on Netflix in October 2019. He has also produced 6 Souls starring Julianne Moore and Johnathan Rhys-Meyers; The Invisible for Touchstone Pictures; the psychological horror film Templev shot in Japan and the thriller Compulsion shot in Northern Italy. Other credits include Darkness Falls directed by Julien Seri, Alone directed by John Hyams and Sound Of Violence directed by Alex Noyer. In addition, he is actively developing, packaging and producing over forty other film and television projects. Previously, he was a Development and Production Executive for Fine Line Features/New Line Cinema where he was responsible for overseeing the development and production of projects for Fine Line Features. A few of the projects that he was responsible for include The Anniversary Party starring Jennifer Jason Leigh, Alan Cumming, Kevin Kline, and Gwyneth Paltrow and Human Nature starring Patricia Arquette and Tim Robbins. He also covered various domestic and international film festivals and tracked independent feature films at all stages of production for potential domestic and international distribution. Prior to joining Fine Line, Mike was an agent trainee at United Talent Agency where he worked with such clients as Joel and Ethan Coen, Wes Anderson, and Curtis Hanson. He is a graduate of Duke University and the University of Texas at Austin Law School in addition to being a member of the California State Bar.

Yulia Evina BHARA

Indonesia / Kawankawan Media / CEO, Producer

Yulia Evina Bhara is Producer and the founder of KawanKawan Media, a production company based in Jakarta, Indonesia. She produced among others: Solo, Solitude (2016) by Yosep Anggi Noen, The Science of Fictions (2019) by Yosep Anggi Noen, Documentary You and I (2020) by Fanny Chotimah. Whether The Weather Is Fine (2021) by Carlo Francisco Manatad, Stone Turtle by Woo Ming Jin (2022), Autobiography by Makbul Mubarak, Tiger Stripes by Amanda Nell Eu, Dreaming & Dying (2023) by Nelson Yeo, Last Shadow At The First Light (2023) by Nicole Midori Woodford, 24 Hours With Gaspar (2023) by Yosep Anggi Noen. She is chosen as Variety’s Women Impactful 2023 by Variety International.

KIM Yohwan

KIM Yohwan is an entertainment investor and producer with over 20 years of experience in the cultural content industry, including movies. He began his career in production at Tube Pictures in 2001 and joined a venture capital investment firm in 2011 as a VC specializing in cultural content. There, he managed a cultural content fund and a film planning and development fund, investing in over 40 cultural content projects and 30 developing scenarios over four years.

In 2015, KIM Yohwan joined KICT Born2Global center as an overseas manager under the Ministry of Future Planning, where he selected and trained domestic startups to engage with overseas VCs and organized demo days in LA, Brussels, London, and Beijing.

Returning to production in 2016, he founded 88 Avenue, a production company. He has been involved in several films as a producer, including Insane (2016), Diva (2020), Emergency Declaration (2022), and Livestream (2023), and served as a co-planner for OK! Madam (2020). He also produced Nailed (2019) and the upcoming drama I Kill U (2024). In addition to planning, developing, and making movies and dramas, 88 Avenue is also developing content-related applications.

BONG Mandae

Korea / Mandae company / Director

Starting with Tokyo Sexpia in 1999, he made more than 15 minor works such as 2000 Years, Salmon, One Heart, and Tantara. He was recognized as a writer-oriented director and debuted in the commercial film Sweet Sex and Love in 2003. Since then, he has directed Cinderella, Sex Lies and Videotape, Fatal Temptation, Trap and Artist Bong Man-dae, and is active on various platforms including commercials and music videos. TV dramas include Dongsang Imong, TV Bangjajeon, and Cinecal. Currently, as a creator, he runs a YouTube channel and engages in creative activities in various fields such as broadcasting and film.

LEE Yoonjung

Yoon Jung Lee is a visual artist, film director, and writer for both screenplay and story. After graduating from the California Institute of the Arts with an MFA degree in Film and Video, she started her professional career directing inter-media arts for stages in theater, dance, and music. Moving into the film industry of Korea, she made her first feature film, Remember You (2016), from her original ideas and screenplay. She also wrote and directed Joan’s Galaxy (2020), an independent episode of the first Korean SF anthology, SF8, produced by MBC, Soo Film, and DGK (Directors Guild of Korea). Her films were screened in the Hawaii International Film Festival, New York International Film Festival, New York Asian Film Festival, LA Asian Pacific Film Festival, Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, Women’s Film Festival in Seoul, and other festivals; also nominated for Seoul Drama Awards and SF Award. She is currently developing a few TV series and feature films. This year, her first short story, Trouble Train Ride, was published in Mood of Future, an SF anthology book, by Safe House. Since 2019, she has been devoting herself to the international alliance for the protection of audiovisual authors’ rights representing DGK (Directors Guild of Korea). In 2022, she was elected as the vice-president of AVACI (Audiovisual Authors International Confederation).

SHIN Wonsun

Korea / Hanmac Culture Corporation / Consultant

Wonsun Shin, a consultant in co-production, festivals strategies and remake rights acquisitions, began her career at CJ Entertainment, gaining marketing insights and global festival strategies. Post-CJ, she served as a selection jury for NAFF and Fantastic 7 at BIFAN and NFDC Film Bazaar Goa’s co-pro market and most recently Marché du Film’s Cannes Investors Circle.

CHO Yoonjung

Korea / BLUEMOONPARK Co.,Ltd / CEO, Producer

After graduating from Ewha Womans University, she worked at Cine2000, Keyweckshidae, and Yedang Entertainment Film Production, where she worked in various roles such as film production, planning, rights purchase, marketing, overseas co-production, and overseas location. As a founding promoter of the Producers Guild of Korea in 2007, he tried to contribute to the role and position of producers in Korea and served as the organizing chairman, president, and international chairman. In 2013, he played a role as the international chairman in establishing an MOU cooperation system with the American producers' unions PGA and PGK to lay the foundation for a network with producers around the world. In 2020 and 2021, he served as the business manager of S#1, the Korean Film Planning and Development Capacity Building Center to strengthen the connection between new creators and the industry, and laid the foundation for the center. As of 2024, he is currently serving as a director (steering committee member) of PGK and has established BLUEMOONPARK Co.,Ltd, a production company specializing in motion picture and digital contents, and is planning and producing various works at home and abroad.

Jongsuk Thomas NAM

Korea / Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival / Programmer of English-speaking countries¡¯ cinema & NAFF Managing Director

Jongsuk Thomas Nam majored in RTVF/Communication Arts. He returned to Korea from the US to be an assistant director for the film Jungle Story (1996). He worked for the Busan Film Festival from 1997 on as the coordinator of the Kim Kiyoung Retrospective, a festival coordinator at BIFF, and the senior coordinator of the Pusan Promotion Plan (PPP). After working as the general secretary of the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC), he joined the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in 2007 as a staff member and also worked for the festival as an expert adviser. He is currently a festival programmer for BIFAN and the managing director of the Network of Asian Fantastic Films (NAFF). He also works as the curator for the Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong, Sitges Film Festival FanPitch in Spain, Focus Asia section of Udine Far East Film Festival in Italy, Blood Window of Ventana Sur in Argentina, After Dark section of the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival in India.

MO Eunyoung

Korea / Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival / Programmer of Korean cinema

Mo Eunyoung majored in film and animation theory. She was a writer for EBS programs such as Cinema Paradiso and Anitopia, and she contributed to magazines and daily newspapers such as FILM2.0, DVD2.0, and KINO as a film critic. She also worked as a programmer for Korean Film Archive Cinematheque KOFA for multiple years after it first opened. She has also organized a number of fusion performances that join classic films with various genres, such as the silent film narration performance of Crossroad of Youngsters.

Samantha MOON

Korea / Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival / Industry Program Manager

Samantha Moon majored in philosophy and minored in multimedia, first started working in the film industry in 2008. After serving as the program manager of the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival, she has been working as the industry program manager of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. She has directed several short films, and worked as an artist. She has created artist groups, most notably Nomaki(Nomad Kirke) to organize various types of contemporary exhibitions including audio-visual, media installation, and improvisation performance.
