The Cannes Fantastic 7 is an initiative launched in 2019 at the March? du Film of the Cannes Film Festival, with the aim of revitalizing the global genre film
industry. Co-hosted by the March? du Film and the Sitges Film Festival, the program brings together seven leading international fantastic film festivals each
year to spotlight emerging talents and projects in the genre cinema space.
For the 2025 edition, the participating festivals include the Sitges Film Festival, South by Southwest (SXSW), Guadalajara Film Festival, Cairo International Film
Festival, Hong Kong International Film Festival, Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, and Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN).
BIFAN¡¯s official selection for the seventh edition of Fantastic 7 is Sisterhood, directed by YOON Eunkyung and produced by LEE Yunjin. The director and
producer were formally invited to the Fantastic Pavilion at this year¡¯s Cannes Film Market, where they participated in the Fantastic 7 pitching session, as well as
key networking events such as ¡°Spot the Composer¡± and ¡°Fantastic Night.¡± Their participation highlighted the creative strength and global potential of Korean
genre film projects to international industry professionals.
The seven participating festivals of Cannes Fantastic 7 remain committed to fostering global collaboration, building robust professional networks, nurturing
emerging talent, and promoting the discovery and development of exceptional genre films worldwide.
