The NAFF Project Spotlight is an initiative that annually selects one Asian country to highlight, showcasing the unique characteristics and achievements of its
genre cinema. In 2025, NAFF is pleased to present a focused examination of the current landscape of Korean genre films.
Selected projects will be introduced to a global audience of film industry professionals through the ¡°Project Spotlight Korea Pitching¡± session. These projects
will also have the opportunity to participate in one-on-one business meetings aimed at facilitating co-production, investment, and distribution opportunities.
Outstanding projects will be recognized with awards in the form of cash prizes and/or in-kind support.
Over the years, numerous projects introduced through the Project Spotlight have garnered significant recognition and success. Notably, The Tenant
by YOON Eunkyung, a 2023 selection, received the Best Director Award and the FIPRESCI Prize at the 2023 Singapore International Film Festival. In addition,
Mad of Madness, selected in 2024, achieved a theatrical release in Indonesia in May 2025.
Through this initiative, the Project Spotlight seeks not only to celebrate the artistic and industrial strengths of genre films from the featured country, but also to
contribute to the expansion and fortification of the Asian film industry network.
